Natja started shooting professionally in 1995 with local bands and DJ’s around her hometown of Detroit. After traveling around the country for a couple years she settled in Denver, Colorado where she met up with DJ Ghosh and Nitemare. With nearly unlimited access to the Denver electro scene she was able to photograph many local and guest DJ’s. Freelancing enabled her to shoot a variety of special events put together by several different Denver production companies like Old Norsk, Homegrown Entertainment and The Triad Dragons. In 2005 she was flown out to Detroit to photograph the Detroit Electronic Music Festival giving her the opportunity to shoot such legends as Kevin Saunderson and DJ Ken Ishii. In 2006 she was brought home again as a guest artist for Dalley in The Alley. In early 2009 she was drawn back to Detroit. Wanting to document the city she grew up in and the talent it had to offer. In 2010 Natja was brought in to document Gabe Hall and the Sacred Visionary Collective during DEMF, yet again. Most recently she has gone back to school in the interest of broadening her technical knowledge and fine tuning creative style.
